Supermarkets push "greener" fuels in challenge to oil majors

Sales of ultra-low sulphur "city diesel" are coming close to matching those of standard diesel at Tesco and Sainsbury's filling stations. The retailers are also expanding their range of "greener" fuels to include "city petrol". In contrast, the major oil companies are refusing to offer the cleaner fuels at retail sites in the UK, arguing that they are better targetted at urban depot-based fleets.
