Paint industry puts VOC information on cans

New product information classifying decorative paints according to their content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is being introduced by the British Coatings Federation (BCF) as part of a wider policy by the European paint industry to phase out products with high levels of VOCs. The BCF scheme and B&Q's VOC label for paints are seen by the Government as worthy examples for retailers and trade associations to follow - but the developments leave the EC eco-label looking increasingly irrelevant.
