Thames finds a market for compost made from sewage sludge

Thames Water's range of peat-free composts made from sewage sludge appears to be achieving some success in the high-value domestic market - where many believed that a sludge-based product would never gain customer acceptance. Sales represent a tiny fraction of the sewage sludge available - but the initiative may signal a new source of competition for the UK's emerging municipal waste composting industry to cope with.
