Worcestershire is set to become the first UK local authority to invest in anaerobic digestion (AD) for treating household waste, if planning obstacles can be overcome. Meanwhile, an AD project in Kent has foundered - and Southampton's long-standing AD ambitions have yet to bear fruit.
