Statutory nuisance and traffic noise

In an important test case on statutory nuisance provisions under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the High Court has held that they can no longer be used to force landlords to provide improved sound insulation against general noise from traffic. The decision also contains important guidance on the responsibility of landlords for statutory nuisances where external environmental problems have changed since the premises were let.
