US study reawakens cancer fears over chlorinated drinking water

A new statistical study has found a link between the consumption of chlorination by-products in drinking water and rectal and bladder cancers.1 The study will force a re-examination of the international consensus established two years ago, which found that there was inadequate evidence to classify chlorinated drinking water as carcinogenic.
