BNFL's MOX plant hangs in balance as Japan rejects fuel
The Japanese government has put a freeze on imports of mixed oxide (MOX) fuel from British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) and says it has lost trust in the company. The dramatic move by BNFL's biggest customer spells disaster for the company's new £300 million MOX plant - and could also jeopardise its reprocessing business and the Government's plans for privatisation.
