NRA records another decline in top quality rivers

A further decline in the proportion of English and Welsh rivers falling within the top quality class was recorded in 1991/2, according to the latest annual report of the National Rivers Authority (NRA).1 The number of water pollution incidents also increased - but serious incidents declined.
