Thames Water fined in historic pollution case

History was made on 14 May when the first private prosecution based on information in the public water pollution registers which were set up in 1985 brought victory for the Anglers Co-operative Association (ACA). The case ended with Thames Water being fined £6,000 for breaches of the effluent discharge consent at its Aylesbury sewage treatment works.
