Harwell in a tangle over groundwater clean-up

A clean-up of groundwater polluted by two landfills on the Harwell Laboratory site of the Atomic Energy Authority (AEA) has hit a potentially serious obstacle. Oxfordshire County Council has reservations about the project on air pollution grounds - and may force the AEA into an expensive retrofit of remediation equipment which has already been delivered to the site.
