Hants approves, Kent rejects incinerator applications

Onyx subsidiary Hampshire Waste Services has received planning permission from Hampshire County for its proposed 165,000 tonnes per year energy-from-waste incinerator at Marchwood near Southampton. The company already has planning permission for a 90,000 tonnes per year incinerator at Chineham, near Basingstoke, and is awaiting a decision on a proposed third plant at Portsmouth.
