Chemical industry's worries about LCAs, eco-labelling

Leading chemical companies are looking increasingly positively at the use of life-cycle analyses (LCAs) in their business strategies, according to the proceedings of a conference held in Brussels in November. But the event also exposed a split between consumer product manufacturers, who appear more likely to be able to adapt to the demands of the EC's eco-labelling scheme than some of their suppliers, who voiced anxieties about prospective losses of sales.
