Audit Committee revives renewables inquiry

The House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee is picking up the threads of an inquiry into renewable energy which it started at the beginning of 2001. The inquiry will follow up the findings of the Government's energy review (see pp 5-7 ). Key issues to be covered include the impact of the new electricity trading arrangements, the renewables obligation, capital grants and R&D funding, and the extent of "joined-up" working between Whitehall Departments and Ofgem.
