Award for British Steel's desulphurising process

British Steel's new iron desulphurisation plant at its Lackenby site on Teesside has won the 1992 PA Golden Leaf Award which aims to show that responsible environmental management can create commercial benefit. The £7.5 million investment has greatly reduced particulate emissions from the process, and will be recouped within three years.
