Yorkshire fined for supplying "muddy" water

Yorkshire Water has been fined £15,000 for supplying water unfit for human consumption following two incidents in West Yorkshire in 1999. The company admitted the offences under section 70 of the Water Industry Act 1991 at Leeds Crown Court on 11 January. The prosecutions were brought by the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI).
