Heat turned up under waste oil burning

The European Commission has warned the UK to drop its excise duty derogation for recovered fuel oil (RFO) because of a requirement in the waste oils Directive for Member States to give priority to oil recycling. Councils face higher bills from collectors now that RFO is regarded as waste, while the waste incineration Directive will prevent roadstone producers from burning waste oil from 2006.
