NRA launches groundwater protection policy

The National Rivers Authority (NRA) has launched its new groundwater protection policy.1 It has stepped back from some of the more restrictive measures proposed last year on mining and quarrying and a miscellany of industrial activities, and the NRA will also not be pressing the Government to introduce water protection zones. But the policy also contains measures not proposed last year for the location of landfills and industries handling hazardous chemicals.
