Radioactive discharges strategy slammed as 'business as usual'
The Government has promised "major cuts" in radioactive discharges by 2020 under a strategy designed to comply with a 1998 Ospar agreement.1 The strategy relies on managed decline in the nuclear industry, and will see substantial increases in some radioactive discharges above recent levels - leading Greenpeace to attack it as "simply business as usual."
