British Energy fined £15,000 for monitoring failure
Troubled nuclear generator British Energy has been found guilty of a procedural failure at its Torness nuclear station in Scotland. The error caused over 60 cubic metres of unsampled liquid radioactive waste to be released into the North Sea. The company denies that staff cuts contributed to the incident.
