Freshwater nutrient pollution costs UK £158 million per year

A study by environmental economists and the Environment Agency has estimated that freshwater eutrophication damage is costing the UK economy up to £107 million per year. On top of this, annual treatment and remediation costs amount to £51 million, the study concludes.1
