DoE report puts NOx abatement back on the agenda

The Department of the Environment (DoE) has released a long-awaited report on the control of emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from power stations.1 The study concludes that selective catalytic reduction (SCR) could cut NOx emissions by 80% at relatively low cost, and will revive pressure on HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) to require the technology on coal-fired stations.
